Suppliers of products assessed in SundaHus Material Data can use the SundaHus logo in their marketing. Learn more about how to do it here.

Before you place an assessment order, make sure to have all the documentation at hand as that will speed up the process and help avoid delays. Please read our terms and conditions for further information.

Chemical products always require a Material Safety Data Sheet, which provides information on the chemical hazards associated with the products. This document is legally binding for chemical products and should therefore always be made available by suppliers.

For both chemical and other products, we request building product declarations or any other form of environmental declaration (e.g. a customized form of environmental product declaration, EPD, PEP).

The documents should also contain a sufficient amount of information in order to be considered complete (see checklist for details). In our checklist you can see what specific data we look for in different product categories.

A template for the Building Product Declaration can be found on the following website. We encourage you to also provide product information sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, emisson reports and ecolabelling certification where applicable.

BPD is the abbreviation for Building Product Declaration (in Swedish BVD), which is a basis for assessing the environmental impact of a product at different stages of the life cycle. There are various templates available for this. You can find our template in English, Swedish or Danish.

It is inappropriate for SundaHus to help fill out a Building Product Declaration (BPD) considering the fact that SundaHus will then use this document as a basis for an environmental assessment. This could lead to bias and put the company in a conflict of interest. SundaHus may, however, provide suggestions on how and what type of information to present in the document and then refer to other companies that assist in the filling out of BPDs.

With your supplier account, you can update documents directly in SundaHus Material Data. On the supplier page, you get an overview of your brands and can reach the assessment of the brand's products. On each product page, you can either choose to update the document already connected to the assessment or suggest a new document that should be added. Note: You can only update the document this way if they are available on  the web. If the documents are not available on the web you can send the documents (preferably in PDF format) to docs@sundahus.se.

In order to report errors in assessmens, you must be logged in to your supplier account. You can find the link "Rapportera fel" at the bottom of each product assessment page. SundaHus chemists will then deal with the matter and send a response on what has been done.

After clicking on "Forgot password" on the log in module, and following the instructions, a new password will be sent to your email.

Project requirements can be defined using SundaHus criteria. These should then be stated in the project's environmental program, in order to inform project participants of the environmental goals set for the project. For example, a project environmental program could state: A and B products are OK to choose, but C+, C- and D products need to be approved by the project manager before use.

Project requirements vary from project to project and they are defined by the project client.

Project requirements can also be defined with respect to other systems, such as building certification schemes, blacklists etc. A function called "Surveillance lists" is then used to display symbols on the products that do or do not comply.

The licensee (often the project client) makes it possible for project participants to get free SundaHus accounts. Log in information is sent to all project participants responsible for registering products in the project.

The project client decides on the environmental requirements for the products and therefore is also responsible for the approval process. Contact the project client if unsure on what environmental requirements apply for the project.

No one wishes to incorporate hazardous substances into buildings, even if it is not entirely possible to avoid. We offer a web-based system that can be used as a tool for property owners to ensure that environmentally conscious material choices are made and that work on phasing out hazardous substances is done in a systematic way.

This mainly has to do with two things - i) being able to avoid hazardous substances and ii) the documentation of all product choices - good or bad from an environmental perspective.

There are many aspects that need to be considered when selecting products, such as, function, quality, price, energy and aesthetics. Because of this, it is not always possible to avoid products with hazardous substances. This makes the documentation of all product choices very important for future records. In addition, what is considered "harmless" today might be reclassified as hazardous tomorrow as research progressively brings new knowledge into this field.

By creating a sound documentation of the substances and materials, we can create an opportunity for monitoring the contents of a building over time.
